Who We Are & What We Do
The Gulf County Senior Citizens Association, Inc. was founded in 1977. The purpose of this organization was to provide services, aid, and assistance to the senior citizens of Gulf County. What started off as a group consisting of a few dedicated people in a small recreation hall, has evolved into several members, volunteers, and a building dedicated specifically to enriching and supporting the lives of the Gulf County seniors. This includes a location in port St. Joe, Florida and Wewahitchka, Florida. The GCSCA provides approximately three-thousand nutritional meals annually, transportation, recreation, homemaker services, and respite to hundreds of seniors and their families. Those things just scratch the surface of all this organization has had the privilege to provide to our seniors. We are proud to carry this platform for our county, and count it a privilege to have created a gathering place of friendship and assistance to give back to those who have come before us.
Mission
The mission of the Gulf County Senior Citizens Association, Inc. is to provide a safe place the elderly, ages 60+, can come to for fellowship and assistance. Our goal is to Garner the funding and resources we need to expand the senior center with more activities and avenues for assistance, create more events for the community to partake in to support the center, and continue to compensate our incredible staff who work around the clock to keep this vision from 1977 progressing forward.
